بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم
I begin by thanking Allah Almighty for bestowing upon me the honor and responsibility to serve, and express my sincere gratitude to the Chief Minister, the Home Minister and the Inspector General of Police for the trust placed in me. Karachi the city to which I owe my life is Pakistan’s economic lifeline and a living mosaic of cultures, aspirations, and resilience. I promise, with humility and resolve, to do my utmost to serve the city.
Our vision is to build a professional, modern, and people-centered Karachi Police, firm in enforcing the law, fair in its conduct, and trusted by the public it serves. Our mission is to restore and sustain public confidence in policing through professionalism, accountability, and service. This mission will be pursued by strengthening operational effectiveness against serious and organized crime, especially street crime and extortion. Curbing the menace of narcotics, through a multilayered and coordinated approach, will be our top most priority.
Public service will remain the core of our policing philosophy. We will strive to make Police Stations as service centers, rather than fear zones, by ensuring respectful behavior, timely response, and transparent procedures. Community policing partnerships with citizens, traders, and civil society will be strengthened.
We shall promote faceless reporting mechanism and other technology-driven initiatives to enhance transparency, reduce discretionary practices, and improve efficiency in investigation and other police processes. Priority shall be given to low-cost, high impact, and immediately implementable reform initiatives that do not impose additional financial burden.
Consultative and participatory decision making will be institutionalized, to ensure that decisions and policies are participatory, informed and accountable. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) will be developed to implement the policies.
Gender-responsive policing will be another important pillar of our policing philosophy. We will strengthen role of female officers in policing and ensure safe, dignified reporting mechanisms for women, children, and vulnerable groups.
We are equally committed to motivating and supporting the force through welfare, training, and improvement in their living conditions, because a motivated workforce is the backbone of public safety. Above all, we pledge that no effort will be spared in caring for and supporting the children and families of our heroes who laid their lives in the line of duty.
The welfare, education, and well-being of the families and children of our Shuhada, who have laid down their lives in the line of duty, shall remain a solemn responsibility and a priority for the Karachi Police.
To my men: I will stand with you when you act lawfully, professionally, and in the best interest of the people.
To the people of Karachi: I commit to serving you with fairness, dignity, and resolve, and I urge you to stand with your police in restoring trust, order, and safety in our city.
With Allah’s guidance, institutional integrity, and collective effort from both the force and the citizens, Karachi Police will move forward, modernized, professional, and people-focused for the
betterment of this great city we all call home.
Karachi Police Zindabad, Pakistan Paindabad.
